How to uninstall Mshtml.dll
A DLL, abbreviated for Dynamic Link Library, is a library consisting of code and data simultaneously shared among one or more programs. A DLL thereby encourages modularization of code, code reuse, efficient memory utilization, and reduced disk space usage. Ordinarily, a DLL creates an issue known as a dependency within a program.
Mshtml.dll is a Microsoft DLL file that renders a web page inside Microsoft’s internet browsing application called Internet Explorer. It also stores Internet Explorer icons. Mshtml.dll file gets installed automatically with a Windows Operating System installation. However, in case of a corruption you may need to install and register or uninstall and unregister a DLL file on your computer. A simple command line utility can be used in following steps to unregister or disable a DLL file in your Windows OS.
- Locate the location path of mshtml.dll in your Windows installation. For instance, C:\Windows\System32
- Click on "Start" and type "Run" into the Search Programs and Files box. Press "Enter."

If you are using a version of Windows prior to Windows Vista, select "Run" from the "Start" menu. The Run box opens.
- Type "regsvr32 /i /u <path>\mshtml.dll" (without the quotation marks) into the Run box and click "OK." Replace "<path>" with the path you noted down in step one. For instance, "regsvr32 /i /u C:\Windows\System32\mshtml.dll." This will automatically uninstall and unregister the mshtml.dll file.
